Kayakers Film Humpback Whale in Florida Panhandle

It was an experience of a lifetime for two men in the Florida Panhandle. Some commotion off Seacrest Beach turned out to be a juvenile humpback whale. Jake Williams and his friend Jake Ritch paddled out to take a closer look. The video they posted on YouTube is an incredible sight to see:

Humpback whales migrate up to 16,000 miles each year, feeding in polar waters and ranging worldwide. Adults grow to more than 50 feet long.  Juveniles like this one — they estimate it was 35 feet long — will sometimes approach the Florida gulf coast. But it’s a sight so rare that most locals will never have an experience like it.
